United Nations Development Programme

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is a United Nations agency tasked with helping countries eliminate poverty and achieve sustainable economic growth and human development. The UNDP emphasizes developing local capacity towards long-term self-sufficiency and prosperity. The Spotlight Initiative responds to all forms of violence against women and girls, with a particular focus on sexual and gender-based violence and harmful practices. Through the UNDP funding, ASWHAN implemented the spotlight initiative project which is a global, multi-year partnership between the European Union and the United Nations to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls. The project built the capacities of women and young girls as Advocate to demand for their human right, report any form of abuse/Rape and seek justice from 2020 to 2021
