The United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, also known as UN Women, is a United Nations entity working for gender equality and the empowerment of women. UN Women coordinates and promotes the UN system’s work in advancing gender equality, and in all deliberations and agreements linked to the 2030 Agenda. The entity works to position gender equality as fundamental to the Sustainable Development Goals, and a more inclusive world.
The UN Women funded and provided technical support for enhancing the institutional and technical capacity building for women and girls living with HIV towards more inclusive and sustainable HIV response in Nigeria. The project provided capacity building for mentor mothers on ANC/PMTCT uptake, Gender, Stigma reduction, SRHR, Mental health and wellness, online coaching for women and girls on depression and coping skills from 2021-2022
