Job Summary
The State Project Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination, delivery and reporting of ASWHAN’s project activities in Kebbi State. The role provides leadership to the state team and LGA-based officers, manages relationships with government and consortium partners, and ensures that implementation is timely, within budget and compliant with donor requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and implementation of the Kebbi State work plan and ensure agreed targets are met on schedule.
- Supervise, mentor and appraise state and LGA-based project staff, including the Food and Nutrition Security Officers and Social Protection Officers.
- Oversee agricultural and livelihood interventions, including farmer training, input support and market linkages.
- Represent ASWHAN with the State Ministry of Agriculture, other relevant MDAs, LGA authorities, community leaders and implementing partners.
- Coordinate joint planning and field activities with consortium partners.
- Prepare and submit timely, accurate programme and financial reports to the head office.
- Oversee monitoring, learning and documentation of results, including quarterly and annual reports.
- Manage state-level risks, procurement requests and budget utilisation in collaboration with Finance.
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, ASWHAN policies, safeguarding and PSEA standards.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Social Sciences, Public Health, Development Studies or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in project management, including at least years in a coordination or supervisory role with an NGO or INGO.
- Demonstrated experience managing donor-funded projects with agriculture or food security components.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong budget management, donor reporting and team supervision skills.
- Good knowledge of Kebbi State context and local government structures.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Fluency in English and Hausa.
- Willingness to be based in Kebbi State and to travel to project LGAs.
